Author Roger Saillant visits

The Power of Being Seen. The Library Committee invites you to take part in a special discussion with author Roger Saillant from 9:30 to 10:15 am Sunday, May 7 in the Celtic Cross Room. Roger will share his experiences growing up as a foster child in Doylestown as depicted in his memoir The Power of Being Seen. Roger’s story is one of pain and anguish but also triumph, thanks to caring adults who helped to guide him. Roger will offer his appreciation for the foster care system and stress the importance of truly “seeing and hearing” all children. Copies of the memoir will be sold on the bridge today with a portion of the proceeds going toward KidsPeace – a charity serving the behavioral and mental needs of children, families, and communities.
