A Thursday at Bethel

This week, several DPC members visited six area grocery stores and purchased 120 loaves of bread. One cashier asked: “Are you planning on making a lot of French toast?!”

The actual plan was to bring them all to Bethel Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia to contribute to its vital Food Ministry. And that’s exactly what they did today, as two carloads of carbs made it to Bethel and were distributed (along with other items) to 152 people!

Bethel gives out food to those in need every Thursday and hosts a Community Meal two Saturdays each month. You can join the DPC members who routinely volunteer or you can contribute by donating food in the narthex of the DPC sanctuary or during our monthly food drive. Current needs include peanut butter, jelly, pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, and ramen noodles.
