The Miracle Woman (1931)
August 23, 7 pm in the Celtic Cross Room
On Friday, August 23 we will show the early Frank Capra film “The Miracle Woman” (1931), starring 24 year old Barbara Stanwyck, who gives an incredible performance in one of her first leading roles. The film tells the story of the daughter of a minister who dies of a broken heart after he is retired by his congregation due to his age, which causes her to lose her faith. She is then recruited by a con man to perform fake miracle healings at revival meetings. Will her love for a blind aviator who comes to her for healing restore her faith in God?
As usual, fresh popcorn will be served!
