Adult Education

The Adult Education Committee oversees DPC's educational ministries for adults, which include classes for adults during the education hour on Sunday mornings, as well as DPC Forums, guest speakers and other programs for adults.  The committee meets on the first Monday of every month in Andrews Hall, room 202.

Children's Christian Education

The Children's Christian Education Committee oversees DPC's ministries to children from birth through 6th grade.  The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall, room 205.

College & Young Adults

The College & Young Adults Committee works to provide fellowship opportunities for DPC's college students when they return home from school, to reach out to college students in our community, and to develop relationships among the young adults of our congregation and community.  The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month in Andrews Hall, AH-202.

Fellowship

The primary purpose of the Fellowship Committee is to provide fun, fellowship, nurture, spiritual growth and social inolvement and activity for DPC's members and friends of all ages.  This is accomplished through programs, events and activities for people in all stations of life.  The committee meets on the first Monday of every month in Andrews Hall, room 204.

Finance

The Finance Committee is responsible for the budget and finances of the church.  The committee meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall.

Library

The Library Committee oversees the book collection and materials in DPC's self-serve library.  The committee meets every other month on the third Thursday at 1 p.m. in the library.

Membership

The Membership Committee works to extend hospitality to visitors, encourage them to consider church membership, and incorporate new members fully into the life of DPC.  The committee holds Stepping Stones, DPC's new members' class, three times each year, and oversees all other tasks pertaining to membership review and other membership concerns.  The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month in Andrews Hall, room 202.

Memorials, Bequests & Gifts

The MBG committee is responsible for managing the church's funds related to memorials, bequests and gifts.  The committee meets on the first Monday of every even month in the Library in Andrews Hall.

Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry Committee works to provide opportunities for the men of DPC to to deepen their faith and to develop meaningful relationships with other men.  The committee coordinates the efforts of ROCKmen (Rehabilitating Our Camp Kirkwood), hosts a quarterly men's breakfast, and provides various other opportunities for service and fellowship.  The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month in the Andrews Hall Library.

Mission

DPC dedicates 16% of its operating budget to mission, and it is the task of the Mission committee to allocate these funds among local, national and international mission agencies and social services.  The committee also works to encourage the participation of church members in mission projects and trips, and oversees all of the congregation's fundraising.  The committee meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall.

Peace & Justice

The Peace & Justice/Creation Care Committee works to increase the congregation's awareness of local and global issues of violence and injustice and to renew the congregation's commitment to support and advocate for the poor and oppressed.  The committee also works to educate the congregation on ways that every person can be responsible stewards of the environment.  The committee meets at noon on the third Sunday of odd months and at 7:00 p.m. on the third Monday of even months in the library.

Personnel

The Personnel committee is responsible for the concerns of the employed support, professional, program and pastoral staff of the church.  The committee meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall, room 202.

Presbyterian Women

pwlsymbolrAt DPC you will find a diverse, caring, and welcoming group of Christian women.  Our goal is to provide the following opportunities:

  • Bible Study – Learn, discuss, apply, and share with other women.
  • Mission/Service – Each of our activities include a mission or service component.
  • Fellowship – Meet women of all backgrounds and ages, and enjoy the company of church friends.

Renovation & Construction

The Renovation & Construction Committee oversees the effort to implement DPC's Master Facility Plan, a plan to renovate and expand our facilities in order to accommodate the needs of our worship and ministries.  The committee meets on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall.

Senior Adult Ministry

The purpose of the Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) Committee is to bring about better understanding and awareness of maturing and to enable older adults to practice their autonomy and to be appreciated for their talents and skills.  SAM also coordinates various educational events, lunches and day trips.  The committee meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:00 in Andrews Hall, room 202.

Small Group Ministry

The Small Group Ministry creates and sustains groups within the church which gather together based on similar needs, stages in life, or other common interests to grow spiritually and develop a support network based on their faith.  This ministry is designed to help those involved to grow in their walk with Christ in a more personal way.  The committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month.

Stewardship

The Stewardship Committee oversees the church-wide stewardship innitiatives, the purpose of which is, building on the foundation participation in and commitment to the life of the church, to encourage all members to be year-round stewards of the gifts they have been given by God, giving of their time, talent and treasures whenever they can, in any way they can, to make a difference in our community and the world.  The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month in Andrews Hall, room 107.

Worship, Music & the Arts

The Worship, Music & the Arts Committee coordinates all the services of worship, special music events, music programs and the arts at DPC.  The committee is responsible for organizing ushers, elevator operators, greeters, acolytes, and all other behind-the-scenes work that is necessary for the worship life of the congregation.  The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 in the Celtic Cross Room.

Youth Christian Education

The Youth Christian Education Committee oversees DPC's ministries to youth from 7th through 12th grades.  The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 in Andrews Hall, room 204.
