Congregation Votes to Proceed with Renovation and Construction Project

On February 7, the congregation voted to proceed with the two recommendations from Session regarding the start of our renovation effort and the borrowing of funds to supplement gifts already pledged or received.  We now proceed with seeking presbytery and borough approval of our plans.  If all goes well, we could break ground by late spring or early summer.  To see the presentation shared with the congregation on the 7th, click here.  If you would also like to see the DPC Project Communicator which preceded that meeting and vote, click here

This past weekend, middle school and senior high youth went to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference, a retreat center in Harvey Cedars, NJ, on Long Beach Island.  Thanks to the efforts of several adult leaders, the trip was a blast and there was a lot of meaningful discussion.  Take a look at some photos here.

PDA Continues to Respond to Haiti Earthquake

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) continues to respond to the needs in Haiti.  PDA continues to respond to the Haiti earthquake working in collaboration with partners to provide basic humanitarian aid for those most impacted by the January earthquake and to assess ongoing recovery needs. More than $510,000 has been sent to help with relief. The Haiti response reveals challenges in humanitarian work. Please pray for those affected and give to the ongoing relief through PDA account number DR000064. Gifts can also be made by phone at (800) 872-3283, and checks can be mailed to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, P.O. Box 643700, Pittsburgh, PA 15264-3700.   For your convenience, envelopes are also available in the pews and are marked “Haiti.”  Please be assured that all gifts will be forwarded to the proper channels and used in response to the recent earthquake in that Caribbean nation.  Checks should be made payable to DPC.   Thanks to your generosity, we have received $15,548 ($10,746 in contributions and $4,802 in proceeds from the Gala) in support of this effort.   A check for the whole amount was sent to the Presbytery this week.
