Construction Update

Thanksgiving in October at the Broad Street Ministry Kitchen. A celebration of the new Broad Street Ministry Kitchen was held on Wednesday October 26, in Philadelphia. Here are some photos from the wonderful event!

As part of our Capital Campaign, we helped to renovate the kitchen at Broad Street Ministry.

What has already happened (as of November 3, 2011):

  • Mechanical, electrical, fire protection work, drywall partitions, painting, flooring, and millwork are being completed in the new classrooms and the new toilet facility on the North side of the second floor of Andrews Hall.
  • All work has been completed in the Sanctuary, Celtic Cross Room, and the elevator lobbies in the Sanctuary building, except minor punch list work.
  • Start-up, testing, and inspections of chillers and boilers have been accomplished. Air balancing of new HVAC system is continuing throughout Andrews Hall.
  • Approval of the Kitchen hood and alarm system over the stove area has been received.
  • Windows in bridge have been installed.

What will happen next:

  • Complete all work on the retaining wall behind Andrews Hall, and the sidewalks, curbing, and drainage work along Church and Mechanics Street.
  • Complete wood roof decking and metal framing; commence metal roofing, windows, stone masonry, and mech./electrical rough-ins for the bridge.
  • Start work on Courtyard and handicapped ramp at new front entrances to Andrews Hall.
  • Complete air balancing work and start commissioning work on all HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Ribbon-cutting and Cornerstone laying Ceremony on November 20, at 9:45 a.m.
