Associate Director of Music/Organist (part-time)

Doylestown Presbyterian Church is currently seeking an Associate Director of Music/Organist. The position is part-time (20 hours per week).  The successful candidate will play organ/piano for Prelude, Offertory & Postlude for two Sunday services, special services, e.g. Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve & additional community services hosted by DPC (Thanksgiving & Good Friday). Accompany congregational hymns and responses, soloists/ensembles as required, Chancel Choir (Thursday evening rehearsal), coordinate Children’s Choir Program, accompany or direct one of the children’s choirs, accompany Youth Choir, with possible involvement in the Bell Choir ministry. Play for weddings and funerals with additional compensation. Work closely with the Director of Music regarding substitute organists, extra rehearsals, music workshops/retreats, summer responsibilities, non-worship commitments, e.g. musical & hymn festivals. Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in organ performance, several years experience as a church organist, recital experience preferred and must be an excellent sight-reader and improviser.
